Math and Reading Station Ideas

Hi everyone!  I hope you all had a fabulous week!  I wanted to quickly post about some fun math and reading stations you can do during the fall...it's cheap and quick!!! I love those two words!

I tend to get my best teaching ideas in the morning, my brain is just like, "OHH, that would be an awesome idea!".

I decided to pick up some leaves at dollar tree. Now these leaves where still on their plastic little branch, but I quickly cut them off with a scissor and got to working.

For these activities you will need:
-Leaves
-Sharpie (any color)
-Dry erase board (optional)
-Students ;)

I'll let the pictures do the talking...

You can have the students put them in alphabetical order!

Dual Language Teachers(DLT): Write syllable and have students create words!

Make sight words and the kids have to read them! Place in alphabetical order for a challenge...*NOTE* Not in order in this pic!

DLT: Put syllables together to make words!

Base ten and comparing numbers!!!!!!!!!

Addition with base ten and whole numbers. You can even have them write subtraction on their white boards!

Addition continued!
Aren't these ideas just so simple and easy to create!!! I know there were times where I spend hours upon hours thinking of workstations for my kids!  I'm all for cutesy stuff on paper, but kids need tangible items and to talk to their peers when they're working in small group.

I hope someone got something out of this!!! Please let me know if you would like to see more ideas like these!  I LOVE workstations!!!!!!!!!

I apologize for the glare, that's my dry erase side on my makeshift black board! HA!

If you'd like to know how I created that, let me know!!!!!! Instructions are super easy!!

Good night!
