A Scholastic Giveaway!

Hi guys! It's been a little over a month since my last post, so I figured today's post will reveal some really exciting news!

Two weeks ago, I was contacted by Scholastic (insert teacher scream) to review a product for them.  I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to do so because I no longer am in the classroom setting. However, they were very accommodating in sending me their product to review.

I was given the Let's Find Out Spanish, Scholastic's early childhood magazine for dual language and Spanish programs. Have you ever used Scholastic News? If so, think of that, but in a more related format science.

What I love about this magazine is that their photographs and picture quality are superb! The reading material is phenomenal and very informative! I would say that, Let's Find Out, is very much tied to the standards, no matter which state you reside in!

I was able to access the online portal and I can't express how amazing it is! You get access to all the magazines, so even if you don't want to pull out your teacher edition, you can access it easily online.  There is even the capability to have it read to your students! I also love the fascinating videos that come with each magazine.

I kept thinking of all the possibilities to use this in a dual language classroom. In whole and small group, think animal research! Or even during workstations, allowing students to work with a partner or independently reading really interesting material that's on grade level. How about expanding your students vocabulary? We can all think of those particular students that come to mind!

As an educator for over 10 years, I would never blog about something I did not believe in.  I know you will love this engaging and outstanding magazine.

If you look below, you will see some examples of, Let's Find Out, April and May/June editions.

Now let's get to the fun and exciting news for YOU! Scholastic will be giving 5 lucky winners an entire class set for the May/June version (limit 30 per class set).

All I ask if that you leave you name and e-mail in the comment section below.  I will be randomly drawing names.  The contest will end by April 19th at 8 P.M. EST.

Good luck to all!

Hi guys!

It's been a while again! I have been super busy creating stuff that I haven't had time to come on my blog and update you all on my life. Everything is pretty much the same (yawn). My husband and I got a puppy in November. Her name is Kaylee. She's a mini long-haired dachshund. Oh my word guys, she is the cutest thing in the entire world. At least in my eyes she is! Check her out under my signature.  If you want to follow her on Instagram, her handle is Kaylee McPuppin.  She's pretty funny ;)

Anyway, the real reason why I wanted to blog today was to let you all know that I will be working on getting my guided reading packet done.  It's a monster of a job but if I start soon, I will surely have several school weeks done for the following school year.  I need to know what are some thing you would like to see in the first grade (SPANISH) guided reading packet? My first week was a freebie, click here to grab it if you never downloaded it.

So far I have:
-How to run your guided reading block ( in minutes)
-HFW words
-Differenciated reading passages
-Activities to do with your small group that week
-Activities for the other students (work on writing, word work, digital games)
-Guided targeted lessons for the week

Now I need your input. If you could have your ideal guided reading guide, what else would you want to see in it?  Think about how long your guided reading block is each day. What do you hope to accomplish in that time frame to make your students successful?

I would truly appreciate any feedback you can give me.  The more help I can get, the easier it will be for me to create the material for you!

If you've made it this far, please click on "TPT" up at the top and pick out something from my store that is under $5.  Comment what you would like along with your e-mail!

Thanks y'all!!
